Planet Coaster 2 Trophy Guide: Roadmap to Platinum
Use this Planet Coaster 2 trophy guide to earn all 72 Career Medals, tackle coaster challenges, build a five-star park, and plan your Platinum trophy run.
Jump to

Your Platinum run revolves around 72 Career Medals, a handful of demanding coaster builds, and a park that keeps thousands of guests happy. This Planet Coaster 2 trophy guide groups those requirements so you can work toward several unlocks together. Start Career on Easy, generate research points early, and leave specialized ride builds for Sandbox.
Start With Career, Then Move to Sandbox
Career teaches the management systems while moving you toward chapter trophies, scenario medals, research, and everyday park milestones. Sandbox gives you room to finish construction challenges without balancing a scenario budget.
Keep these completion targets in mind:
- Steam has 36 achievements.
- PlayStation has 37 trophies: 20 Bronze, 13 Silver, three Gold, and one Platinum.
- Easy difficulty is sufficient for the Career medal requirements.
- There are no missable trophies.
- The base-game Career contains 72 medals across 18 scenarios.
Use a Sandbox park with the Creative preset for construction cleanup. It removes management concerns such as power, water filtration, and guest needs, making it easier to concentrate on ride requirements and park rating.
Handle guest satisfaction during Career while you are already managing a working park. Build your Sandbox aging rides early so they can progress toward Classic status while you complete other tasks.

Career Trophies and All 72 Medals
Each Career scenario has four medals: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Opening later chapters is only part of the job; Fully Loaded requires every medal in every base-game scenario, including both Prologue parks.

Track Every Scenario
Use this chapter checklist to catch unfinished medals before leaving Career:
- Prologue — First Drop: 8 medals. Keys to the Coaster; In the Swim of Things.
- Chapter 1 — Rolling With It: 16 medals. Parks and Restoration; A Shore Thing; Just the Thicket; Summit Awesome.
- Chapter 2 — Wheel-y Good Times: 12 medals. Building the Bifrost; Farmland Fiasco; The Brothers Swimm.
- Chapter 3 — Twisting Tracks: 20 medals. Sky’s The Limit; Paradise Lost; Double Trouble; The Garden of Edith; Fabled Fjord.
- Chapter 4 — Final Plunge: 16 medals. Lazy River Styx; Labyrinth Secrets; Thrills’n’Spills; Coaster Chasm.
Work through each park’s objective panel rather than using chapter trophy notifications as your completion checklist. Several named scenario trophies require only Bronze or Silver, but you still need that scenario’s remaining medals for Fully Loaded.
Many later objectives involve a 4.5-star park rating. Add food, drinks, restrooms, benches, trash cans, and souvenir options as the park expands. Waiting until the final objective to address guest needs leaves more problems to fix at once.
Generate Research Points Early
Open mechanic workshops and staff them with mechanics while you work on scenario objectives. Research points can accumulate alongside medal progress instead of becoming a separate grind afterward.
Spend points through Park Management > Research while inside a Career scenario. Unlock every available branch across Coasters, Tracked Rides, Water, Power, Transport, Flat Rides, and Flumes.
Keep researching as later chapters open. Access to Chapter 4 is needed to purchase everything required for Eugene Would Be Proud.
Coaster Trophies: Combine Length and Excitement
Five trophies require specific coaster statistics. Best of the Best can cover three requirements with one ride: track length, high excitement, and the lower excitement threshold.
Image: Steam / Frontier Developments
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Not For The Faint-Hearted | Build and open a coaster with Excitement of at least 7. |
| In a Word, Whoooosh | Build and open a coaster that reaches at least 100 mph / 161 kph. |
| Test of Endurance | Build and open a coaster with at least 2,500m of track. |
| Down Is Up | Build and open a coaster longer than 500m with at least 10 inversions. |
| Best of the Best | Build and open a coaster with at least 2,500m of track and Excitement greater than 9. |
Build One Long, High-Excitement Coaster
Target at least 2,500m of track and Excitement above 9. That satisfies Best of the Best, Test of Endurance, and Not For The Faint-Hearted.
Use airtime hills to raise excitement, and test throughout construction. Powered or launched coaster options help maintain speed through an extended layout.
Follow this sequence:
- Build the layout or place a suitable Frontier Workshop blueprint.
- Connect the entrance queue and exit path.
- Supply power if your Sandbox settings require it.
- Run a complete test.
- Open Test Results and select the page icon to inspect the detailed statistics.
- Adjust the layout until both length and excitement meet the requirements.
- Set the coaster to Open.
Use the coaster’s testing heatmaps to locate weak stretches. Improve sections where excitement falls instead of extending the track without checking its performance.
Finish Speed and Inversions Separately
For In a Word, Whoooosh, select a launched coaster and adjust its launch speed until testing records at least 100 mph / 161 kph. Check the measured maximum speed before opening it.
For Down Is Up, choose a coaster type that supports inversions. Build beyond 500m and include at least 10 inversions, then check both values in the test results.
Frontier Workshop blueprints can also satisfy these challenges. Search for the trophy name, place a matching coaster, and inspect its statistics yourself. Complete the test and open the ride; downloading a blueprint alone does not finish the requirement.
Water Park Trophies: Build Capacity and Keep Rides Open
Water attractions have separate targets for ride count, active riders, pool attendance, and drop height. Work on the attendance trophies in a populated park, then use Sandbox for any remaining construction requirement.
Image: Steam / Frontier Developments
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| All the Slides | Have 20 water slides or flumes open in one park. |
| Slip ‘n Slide | Have 30 guests riding water slides or flumes simultaneously. |
| Splashing Around | Have 500 guests in pools simultaneously. |
| Ride the Waterfall | Build and open a water slide or flume with a drop of at least 100m. |
Combine Slides With Pool Attendance
Build a large pool area, or several pools, and add slides around it. Keep 20 individual slides or flumes open for All the Slides.
For Slip ‘n Slide, use raft flumes alongside other slide types. Their capacity helps put more guests on rides at the same time. Vary the excitement, fear, and nausea ratings so the water park offers options for different guest preferences.
For Splashing Around, support your pool capacity with:
- Changing rooms and body dryers.
- Guest services where visitors can purchase pool passes.
- Lifeguard coverage and safety equipment.
- Accessible paths around the pool area.
- Working water filtration when your settings require it.
The attendance requirements are simultaneous. Thirty guests who have used a slide over time do not satisfy Slip ‘n Slide, and 500 total pool visitors do not satisfy Splashing Around.
Build the 100m Drop
For Ride the Waterfall, raise the starting platform high enough to create a drop of at least 100m. Build the descent toward a suitable pool, connect access, and test the completed slide or flume.
Check the drop requirement rather than relying on platform height alone. Open the attraction after the test and resolve anything preventing it from operating.
Everyday Park and Attendance Trophies
Several unlocks fit naturally into Career. Check this list before building duplicates in Sandbox.
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Time to Ride | Open a flat ride in any park. |
| On a Roll | Open a coaster in any park. |
| Get Your Feet Wet | Open a flume in any park. |
| People Person's Person People | Have 10 hired staff in one park simultaneously. |
| What Even Is Interest? | Take out a loan of at least $20,000. |
| Quite the Crowd | Have 1,000 guests in a park simultaneously. |
| No Track Required | Have at least 250 guests riding flat rides simultaneously. |
| What A View! | Spend $50,000 on scenery in one park. |
For the three opening trophies, place the attraction, complete its connections and testing where required, then change its status to Open.
Ride attendants and vendors count toward the 10-staff requirement. Use the staff your growing park needs rather than hiring only one worker type.
For What Even Is Interest?, take out a qualifying loan once the park can borrow at least $20,000. Increasing park value expands your borrowing options.
Fill Flat Rides With Guests
No Track Required measures 250 guests actively riding, rather than guests standing in queues. Add high-capacity flat rides and keep them accessible, staffed, and open.
Check guest preferences before filling the park with highly intense attractions. Offer different excitement, fear, and nausea levels so more visitors can find a ride they want to use.
For What A View!, keep the scenery spending in a single park. Landscaping with the scenery paintbrush and placing larger decorative pieces can move you toward $50,000 while improving the park’s appearance and scenery rating.
Five Stars, Happy Guests, and Classic Rides
Use one established Sandbox park for the five-star target and ride aging. A functioning Career park can handle the guest mood requirement while you pursue medals.
| Achievement | How to unlock |
|---|---|
| Showstopper | Build a three-star park. |
| Crowd Pleaser | Build a four-star park. |
| Against the Odds | Build a five-star park in Sandbox Mode. |
| Satisfaction Guaranteed | End a day with at least 2,500 guests in the park and at least 70% in a positive mood. |
| Golden Oldies | Have five rides reach Classic status in one park. |
Raise the Category Holding Back Your Rating
Open the park rating breakdown and inspect its individual requirements:
- Attraction Prestige: Increase the combined prestige of your rides. Ride scenery contributes to prestige.
- Scenery Rating: Add decorative pieces and landscaping.
- Unique Attractions: Open different attraction types instead of relying on copies of one ride.
- Park Reputation: Address guest needs and keep the park operating smoothly.
Add a variety of flume types when you need more unique attractions. They also contribute ride prestige, letting the same expansion support multiple rating categories.
Save when the park approaches 4.5 stars, then use the category breakdown to target the remaining shortfall. For Against the Odds, make sure you are building in Sandbox Mode.
Meet the End-of-Day Happiness Check
Satisfaction Guaranteed requires the population and mood conditions at the end of a day. Reaching 2,500 guests briefly is only part of the requirement.
Open Park Management > Guests Summary and address the complaints affecting your visitors. Use guest heatmaps to locate hunger, thirst, restroom, energy, nausea, and sunburn problems.
Place amenities near the areas where guests need them. Offer different food options, maintain cleaning coverage, and spread staff rooms around the park so employees can take breaks without leaving distant areas unsupported.
Keep watching the population and positive mood percentage through the day’s end.
Let Five Rides Become Classics
Golden Oldies requires five qualifying rides in the same park. Build and open them early, then leave them operating while you work on scenery, attendance, and rating trophies.
Speed up time when the park is stable. Inspect each ride’s prestige information and wait for the actual Classic status rather than using a fixed age estimate.
