Planet Coaster 2 Janitors Not Cleaning Restaurants: Tips

If you’re dealing with Planet Coaster 2 janitors not cleaning restaurants, start with their scheduled tasks and staff-zone assignments. Dirty tables can leave you troubleshooting staffing even when the restaurant already has janitorial coverage. Separate restaurant table problems from nearby litter and overflowing bins so you can target the right cleaning job.

Why Aren’t Janitors Cleaning Restaurant Tables?

A restaurant inside a staff zone can still have a table-cleaning problem. On PC version 1.4.1, restaurant tables could remain dirty even after the restaurant was included in a staff zone and janitors were added to that zone’s roster.

Check those assignments first, but avoid repeatedly hiring employees just because the tables remain dirty. The same setup had a restaurant-specific cleaning issue in that build.

The issue’s tracker status is Expired. That status does not mean the problem was fixed.

Before changing your park layout, distinguish what needs attention:

  • Dirty restaurant tables.
  • Litter or vomit on nearby paths.
  • Full trash bins around the dining area.
  • Other facilities needing cleaning.

Janitors have several separate duties, so a clean path or an emptied bin doesn’t tell you whether restaurant tables are being handled.

Check the Janitor’s Schedule and Cleaning Tasks

Janitors divide their working time among cleaning litter, vomit, benches, toilets, and facilities, plus emptying bins. They also take scheduled breaks. Inspect the employee’s actual work settings before adding more coverage.

Planet Coaster 2 — Check the Janitor’s Schedule and Cleaning Tasks

To review those settings:

  1. Open the staff schedule and select a janitor.
  2. Select a work time slot.
  3. Open Advanced Settings.
  4. Review the assigned staff zone and enabled tasks.
  5. Check the restaurant’s inclusion in that zone and the janitor’s place on its roster.
  6. Review other working time slots for settings that also need attention.

Pay particular attention to employees you previously specialized. A janitor configured to empty bins exclusively has every other cleaning duty disabled for that time block.

Restore broader cleaning duties where needed. If you want the same task configuration throughout the day, use the option to apply it across the all-day schedule. Keep scheduled breaks in mind when checking whether someone is available to work.

Provide a staff building for employees to use during breaks. Breaks help maintain staff morale, and employees can quit when morale drops too low. Connect the building with a staff-only path to keep guests from entering it. Place staff facilities away from guest areas where practical, since their placement can affect the scenery rating. Include morale and break facilities in your staffing review alongside task assignments; hiring employees also means providing somewhere for them to rest during the workday.

If dirty tables persist with the restaurant and janitors correctly assigned, record your platform, game version, zone setup, and enabled tasks when reporting the issue to Frontier. Include the steps that reproduce it rather than simply describing the restaurant as dirty.

Handle Overflowing Bins Separately

For full bins around restaurants, you can assign a janitor specifically to trash collection:

Planet Coaster 2 — Handle Overflowing Bins Separately

  1. Select the employee and a work slot in the staff schedule.
  2. Open Advanced Settings.
  3. Disable every task except Empty bins.
  4. Apply the configuration across the day if you want that employee dedicated to bin collection.

Keep other janitors available for the remaining cleaning duties. If trash continues accumulating, adjust schedules or add janitorial coverage for that workload.

Place bins near food and drink outlets so guests have somewhere to dispose of their waste. Adding refreshments also creates more waste to manage. Include nearby benches in your cleaning review: cleaning benches is another janitorial duty, separate from collecting litter and emptying bins, and it competes for employees’ working time.

This task specialization addresses bin collection. Keep restaurant table cleaning as a separate troubleshooting item when evaluating whether the change helped.
